Respiratory Infection

Wow I guess I was really heading in the wrong direction, before setting anything up I asked a specialist who puts shows and Q&A's at Petco about all the conditions.. and to say the least I feel like he gave me some terrible advice it is starting to look like.. He had told me that the glass is okay as long as there is a screen top for ventilation, and the heat and humidity is moderate. He also told me that housing my boa as long as she is still a baby with Demi should be okay as long as I keep her fed as my cham is always up in the leaves and higher levels in the branches. Ugh... buying new enclosure, ASAP. NOT listening to people at Petco... ever again

The big chain pet stores are notorious for bad information... but this takes the cake! I'm really glad that you are setting up a new home for your cham. She will be much happier and will definitely live longer!

Welcome to the forum, if it hasn't been said. Don't be discouraged by our "knee jerk" reaction to your post - this is a great group of people who are very passionate about our chams, and we are glad to have you. Any questions at all during the new cage setup, don't hesitate to ask!

The enclosure would work beautifully for something like a CWD! Sadly not for a veiled chameleon :( I hope everything works out for you guys!

Yes Welcome, sorry some of the responses were harsh, most of us have probably never seen anything like this. I cannot believe somebody gave you that advice, but heh I guess it is petco. You see something new everyday.

Have you gotten the cham out of there?

And yes most everybody on here are very knowledgable. We can definitely get you cham sorted out so he has a better quality of life.
