    Check it out!

You can get some pretty cheap fixtures at Wal Mart, anywhere from $10-20 bucks, at least in my area. They come with two bulb mounts. In my case I use the extra mount for a specialty plant bulb, but the cages are large, for veilds, so enough light for the plants can be a problem. In your case...

    Check it out!

I would suggest buying a large fixture for the flourscent lights. Over the long haul it is going to be a lot cheaper to just buy one bulb at a time then two.

    Grow Lights

Yes, they diminish just like the UVB tubes. Most have lowered benefits by six months. I personally just change mine once a year and they still seem effective.

    MBD Or Overreacting

Can not really tell from the pictures. Look for curvature in the long bones, upper arm and thigh region. Bone deformities tend to show up here first due to weight and locomotion. Unlike say a primate, muscle development in the upper portion of the limbs is low in a chameleon and makes it...

Jake and the glove sitting in a tree....

Wow. I don't normally say this but thanks for sharing. I use to have dog that was like that all the time. Maybe you should rig up a stuff animal in his cage so he can take out his frustrations whenever he needs too.

    my girlfriend from russia

After the fall of the USSR there was an abundance of Russian women wanting to marry US men to get out of the country. Men paying thousands of dollars where being flown over to Russia to meet these women in big events scheduled at hotels (at least I remember seeing this on 20/20, although, I am...

    Water Question/Issue

Perhaps you should just add on some screening over the top of the catch container to keep your chameleon out of the dish.

    Calling All Experts!

Not sure when those pictures where taken? I still can see some swelling on that right eye. Not much but in that last picture it just looks a little to puffy. Is he still being medicated? What where the vets recommendations of dosage, amount....etc? Could be possible that it is coming back or...

    Grow lights?

I use them. They seem to keep my plants in good condition, especially, in comparison how my plants where beforehand. I feel that they are worth it. Really if you don't want to spend the extra money for the specialty bulb just the addition of an extra flourscent bulb will help as well.

    Salmonella

I bet this is probably true for most captive reptiles. I would be interested to see if wild specimens have it more often. I still would recommend treating them as if they did have it. Response to what Royden said: I always feed my turtle in a separate container. Mine seems to crap shortly...

    question on clamp lamp

I use the same. The only problem I have ever had is that the metal part would not screw on to the actual light (thing? if that made any sense) still usable for most cages. Keep in mind that is one out of probably around twenty I have bought total.

    Shaking abnormal?

Sounds like you need to take your chameleon to the vet. If your shaking is in fact tremors then he is in pretty bad shape. In case of MBD this happens when calcium levels in the plasma drop low. This leads to irradict electrical impulses causing twitching. It occurs all over the body but is...

    pinkie mice?

To much protien can cause complications for a chameleon. If you feed them to your chameleon do it sparingly. Chameleons are know to eat a lot of things in the wild. I personally would have a hard time believing they are eating things like this on a regular basis. More of an opprotunity meal.

how long to have lights on

Foxy you can choose to omit the basking light for now if you are concerned. Keep in mind little ones like that can quickly be over taken by heat and burns. With adequate spacing this is pretty unlikely to occur. If you don't have a basking light they will just move under the flourecent bulb...

    Reptisun and plants?

You can just add on extra flourescent lighting if you want to help your plants. No UVb type bulbs will do no damage to your plant in normal conditions.

    Substrate for Chams!

For a female the substrate would have to be very deep. Say 10-18" to be safe. Still for drainage you would have to layer so that air could get in there and avoid constantly wet soil. Say a layer of soil, then some rocks, then something to strain the sediment (panty hose would be perfect) and...

    Humidity in Reptarium

I have to agree with what is being said here at then end. If this is an issue that has you that concerned then you need the proper equipment to moniter it. This will settle your mind now and in the future. A measuring device is only as good as the person using it. If you just strap a...

    Building terrarium!

I would recommend covering the styrafoam with something like grout or concrete. It doesn't add to much weight and depending on which you go with it doesn't cost to much either. If you did that same spray technique over some concrete it would really look wicked. Also when you add a flower...

    claws getting long

Do you have any pictures of your enclosure? I guess the real reason I ask is that if you do not have enough in the way of vines, branches....etc...they get on the screen. They do this a lot when the cage is to small also. Maybe adding a couple of things or even moving stuff around might get...
