My 1st Panther Chameleon

um no. Why are you considering this as an option?

To add a little air flow around the cage. We are headed into summer any week now. It will be 90-100f for then next 2 months or more. I have a tiny 4" USB fan that will work well for that. . Do you still use the basking light in summer?.

A fan is not going to help with that. I would look into a window air conditioner. If your ambient temps are 85 then you are going to need to turn off the basking. It will be harder for him to regulate temps though with an ambient temp that high.

I have central air.. We do not use it often. It cost allot of $$$ to run it. We don't turn in on until 88f. Fans help allot for us. If it wont harm him I will use it.

Having good air exchange seems like a good idea to me. All I'm concerned about is Ares. I don't want to cause him any unnecessary stress. I have may fan clamped at the end of the shelf blowing across the insect tanks then into my cage. It's not pointing directly into my cage. Its a very slight breeze(y). Its not on all the time, only when its the hottest part of the day

I have a branch I can set on the top door going inside. Maybe he will like coming out ?.

New light and stand are in. Plenty of room to adjust up or down with the goose neck light. The only thing not working how I want is the humidifier. No way to turn it on at 1am. Timers wont work with it. I have to hit the on button to start it. Not sure what to do about that.

I like to thank everyone who has helped with all my inquires so far. Its much appreciated . Next topic Cage cleaning.... How often do you sanitize the fake plants and branches. Live plants need to come out and looked at for anything that needs to be cleaned off. What does everyone use to sanitize with. Also how often is RODI bucket emptied and cleaned. :D

As far as cage cleaning I think most of us have our own ways of doing stuff but very similar.
I do spot cleaning every day. Clean out the urate and poo. I wipe off any leaves and branches that it falls on with a wet paper towel and hot water. I wet vac my drip pan every day to remove the water from the day before.
Each weekend. I have a pressurized spray bottle. I use very hot water and spray all the branches and all the plant leaves. I do not use any fake branches in mine because they can hold bacteria. I use a Quaternary cleaner on my drip pan by spraying it all over a paper towel and then totally cleaning the drip pan. I let it sit on the drip pan for about 15 minutes then use hot water to clean it out and remove with the wet vac.
Every month I take apart his RO Water container for the mistking and the fogger with hose and clean with starsans. Let it sit then rinse and air dry.

Alot of people will use diluted bleach. I happen to get a reaction when I use cleaning products with bleach so I had to find other ways to clean properly.

Does anyone use a fan near the cage?
I actually us a fan on my chameleons. Witch an open window to help with air flow and heat in my house. Not allowed to turn on the ac electric bill will be to high. Even have to fight just to keep the lights on the cages all day because in my family’s eyes it’s a waste of energy. Then I tell them they are a waste of space

So as far as timers I use this brand. The first one has 1 outlet the second has two. I find them very easy to use. I use this to control my fogger then I have a separate one for my thermostat.

When power comes back on I have to hit the start button. It wont start automatically. What kind of fogger are you using.

I got the basics down for cleaning. I have some Clorox Healthcare Bleach Germicidal Cleaner. The 2 large Pathos plants wont be easy to take out. there weaved into everything else. Figuring out how to get to all the branches and plants are my biggest concern. Allot of that stuff wont come out. I guess I will spray Hot water on that stuff. I have baby wipes I use on most surfaces. There cheaper than other wipes. I will take Ares out for that part.

My first fogger had that problem, had to push a button, so timers didn't work. I actually had to return it and get one with a dial instead.

I try to repurpose. It was in my bedroom. We rarely used it. I will see if I can find one that will work.

I personally don't use a fogger. I just use my cool mist ultrasonic humidifier. It's on low during the day. Adjust if needed. At night when lights go out I turn it on med-high. I had to do this and monitor for consecutive nights to get it dialed in to a 50% daytime humidity and 80-90% nighttime. Granted my chameleons have their own room to do this in. I keep the humidifier about 3ft away from my first enclosure. I also keep my New Caledonian geckos in this room as well because their humidity requirements are the exact same.

I'm not using a fogger per say. Its a Ultrasonic humidifier TaoTronics TT-AH008. When its on it produces a thick fog for sure. I could set it to run 8hrs before I go to bed.
