WHERE do you put food in Chamie Enclosure?

The first picture is my handsome MBD boy, Nacho. I obviously keep the worms up at the top of his enclosure for easy access. This is my girl, Baby, who just laid 55 eggs. She's very healthy and mobile and decided to put her worms down at the bottom. Where do you guys place your...

    Eggs Laid, picture.

Thank you for that info. I really feel fear about this, all those eggs. Boy, females do really get the short-end-of-the-stick in everything.

    Eggs Laid, picture.

This was the only photo I was able to get of her while she was digging. She stopped digging for 1/2 after this photo, so I didn't bug her again.

    Eggs Laid, picture.

Very interesting. I just wiped out the bottom of enclosure, gave Baby a bath and put in a dish of worms. She's eating all the worms like crazy. I noticed about a month before laying her eggs she wasn't interested in eating and wasn't pooping much. I was worried. I was lucky to find a...

    Eggs Laid, picture.

Well, thank the heavens, Baby has laid again. No problems. Pretty sure not fertilized. Wow. 138 days ago she laid first clutch, 39. Now she has laid 55 eggs. I'll put them in incubator but about about 99.9% they aren't fertile, which is fine. I just want her to be healthy and okay. Yee...

    HaZaah, digging digging digging

It took a couple days but I think while I was at work today she did her duty. The original hole is covered up and she's looking very thin. I uncovered enclosure and she seemed a little unhappy about that so i'll leave her covered til tonight, bedtime. And I'll take laying bin out after work...

    HaZaah, digging digging digging

Bummer, came home from work an she was sitting up at the top and a big hole in the dirt. Seems that when light went up she went and had a rest. Now light is on and she's climbing around....oh yeah, just checked again. She's digging the hole again.

    HaZaah, digging digging digging

Yee ha, Baby is digging and digging. She hasn't bred with Nacho. Maybe I'll try in the spring. It's been 137 days since she laid her first clutch on June 10th. This is wonderful. Of course for any female veiled owner the biggest worry is them not liking laying bin and getting egg bound...

Don't want to breed, is it okay?

Thanks, it's what I thought too, but sometimes need reassurance that its okay. Maybe next spring I'll try but as of right this second Baby is digging and digging so I'm thrilled she's found her happy hole and hopefully by the end of day she'll have laid. This will be her second clutch. First...

Don't want to breed, is it okay?

Ya, I think she's pretty ready, been 120 days now. She was scratching at the divider to the male's enclosure, so I thought she wanted my boy. But I think she's past breeding time. And her reaction is typical for her when being handled....she is really aggressive about being handled. I...

When Will My Girl Want My Boy

Ya, everyone says that about bats, the information is not correct. People have a belief that bats are disease ridden vermin but in fact less than 5% of bats even carry rabies. In fact, one Uni study in Canada found only about 1%. Anyway, I'm sorry I even mentioned it to get the same info...

When Will My Girl Want My Boy

Thanks for the info that my 16 month old female Veiled will be laying eggs about every 120 to 130 days. She laid her first clutch on June 10th, so that is...about 90 days ago.... My male and female have enclosures side by side. I lowered the visual divider so I can kinda watch her behavior...

    Love??? Behavior...

My dear, sweet MBD-boy, Nacho, always 'difficultly' (I'm an English teacher, I know that's not a real word, LOL) positions himself to see my darling girl, Baby. She sleeps facing down in Right part of photo and he puts himself in an odd position to always face her in the evening. You can't tell...

    Activity Levels of Your Guys.

You know my darling 16 month old MBD boy'z story. He's sooooo active these days. I feel like I don't know normal Chamie behavior. Baby, my 1 year old female, is pretty chill and is only walking about when it's food time, she's a piGGie. Nacho seems so, so active these days. He's walking...

    Behavior during Shedding Time.

My Chamies happen to be shedding at the same time. They are both acting a bit odd. It's been quite hot here and, in fact, I didn't turn on heat lights for 3 days as the temp in the enclosures were high enough. I'm not sure why they seem a little odd. Can't even describe how they are...
