I wipe out their cages every other day. but about every two weeks I put them in the shower.. Chams and all- then clean the shower. If it's summer it's an easy spray down whenever they're outside!
Times like this are tough friend. It's too bad that you couldn't keep your chameleon but life throws us some tough choices from time to time. I hope better times find you in the future.

Mine wont ever eat them. I have a bunch of drift wood and branches in my cages that the worms burrow into and come out as beetles.
I don't want to get too creative with my guys food so I get them out of there. an impacted chameleon is not a good thing so I don't risk it.
