Is it true coil lights can cause blindness or eye problems?

I have a reptisun 5.0 uvb coil bulb for my cham and I was just watching a video on youtube where the guy said coil bulbs can cause blindness? Is that true? I have had once for my cham for about 7 months and I haven't noticed any eye issues.

The videographer is out of date. There were reported eye issues with UV emitting coil type bulbs but supposedly this has been fixed in the newer models. Haven't used them myself. I still prefer tubular bulbs because they light a larger area.

the newer bulbs aren't bad like the older ones
but the tubes are still my preference
