I've promised you some pictures from the amputation of my veiled chams helmet.

All the pictures is copyrighted to Hobrovejens dyrehospital, denmark and I've got permission from them to share them with you.

I can tell you that he is shredding today and he is doing fine.
Find my other tread for the full story:)

Poor little fella! Thank you for sharing the pics though and I'm glad he's making a good recovery, like you are! I would also like to know what was wrong with his casque - why did he have to have the top removed?

Yes, please share your/his story. And thank you for sharing the pictures. I hope he is doing okay.

Poor little guy!

Thanks for the pictures. It is really interesting.

May i know what happened to him?

Sure... Suddenly within ½ an hour his casque had swollen up and I made a emergency call to this vet and they found some kind of strange flesh-eating infection had attack him and in order to save his life the preformed the operationen which according to the vet is the first of it kind that he knows of ( and his a well-known Danish specialist)

The vet has NO clue why he was attacked and what caused it, he is a healthy and strong little rainbow warrior today ( with the exception of a local mild infection he is being treated for) he has NEVER seen it before and he has treated countless of reptiles including chams

in this tread there are some more recent pictures of him and I, so take the time to read this one also

Bjorn, I have read both threads, the surgery was incredible, thank you for sharing it. I have also never heard of a surgery of this type. How good that you have a vet with the knowledge and caring to perform this surgery and do such an excellent job.

thanks for taking the time reading all of this.

as soon as I know more about the reson to the condition I will post it here

How stressful that must have been for the both of you. It's really the worst feeling to have a poorly cham and know that you can't do much for them yourself. I wish both you and your chameleon a speedy recovery - your story is very touching.

thank you, miss Lily:)

atm we are both fighting to get stronger and have a "normal" life - Im so lucky to have him near me and I think he knows that I will do anything to keep him safe and healthy :)

I can't imagine how life will be the day he's gone...

Better to lose a piece of the casque rather the whole chameleon! Good luck and crossing my fingers for a full recovery.
