Dunwoody GA- VET TO AVOID

Located in Atlanta, researched for a good reptile vet, came up with All Creatures Veterinary Hospital. Apparently, the vets there are quite capable. NOT in my experience. I brought a new male veiled to him that was showing early signs of respiratory issues (head up frequently, slight lethargy), plus I wanted to treat for parasites and coccidia prophylactically. After blowing my calls off all day, I got a call 45 minutes before they closed, and the doctor said he couldnt see any signs. I said hes definitiely showing symptoms. And I was told "I rely on medicine. Not someones observation and experience in keeping them." I promptly picked up my chameleon. The next day, I went to another vet, where he insisted my observations were acute, we inspected the chameleons mouth, mucousy and telltake RI. STarted on baytril.

If in Atlanta, DONT GO to All Creatures Veterinary. They are arrogant and egotistical.

Yes, I actually went to him. I just wanted to forewarn about the other clinic, which gets a reputation as an qualified exotic animal vet, but was a waste of time and money for me.

Auburn, AL

Debbie West, DVM
All Creatures Veterinary Clinic
2050 Wire Rd, Auburn, AL 36832
(334) 826-2577

Dr. West has lots of experience with chameleons. I had to travel to see her from northwest Florida (four hours away) because my chameleon was egg bound and needed surgery. She was the closest I could find who had actually performed surgery on a chameleon.

Dr. Timmons, He is awesome and I believe his main area of study in school was reps. I work at their sister clinic and my friend is one of the ER techs for all 5 of their clinics. Timmons is probably the absolute favorite vet in general of every employee at the clinics. He helped me with my veiled chameleon's MBD and my friend's guniea pig with upper resp. I won't go anywhere else for my small animal/ exotics.

Bonus, there is no extra chg for an exotic appt vs cat/dog appt. I believe it's $45 and first appt is free.
