    Colors can trigger chameleons?

For our veiled he really hates bright orange, bright blue, knit patterns, snake patterns, faux fur & reflective lenses on our sunglasses (especially red/orange lenses). He disks up & pops his gular.. so dramatic!

    Environment Enrichment Question...

So, we purchased this book a while ago, The Chameleon Handbook by Francois Le Berre... overall, decent! However, I read something in there I'm interested to discuss with you all :coffee: Pg. 58 - "Environment Enrichment. Environment enrichment is the provision of diverse stimuli to promote the...

    Zenyatta is turning white!

Aww, new scale baby! Yeah, I would bet he's about to shed - you can see the whiteness on his legs, tail & feet too. It happens quick when they're young!

    Zenyatta is turning white!

When's the last time he shed? He looks young - young chameleons shed explosively - might be about that time?

Wound and black patches on chin :(

Your cage is small for an adult Male veiled, it should be at least 2' x 2' x 4' tall. Has he ever displayed rostral rubbing again the mesh? Honestly that looks horrible. His scales & chin spines are literally falling off - Take him to the vet, I'm not sure what you're waiting for!!

    Heating/Lighting help?

Welcome to the forums! While those chameleon starter kits are convenient, they do not supply all the basics. To start, where are you measuring the temperature at within the cage & how are you measuring it? Also, based off the picture your cage will need a tad more vines & plant coverage to...

    Black spots around the neck...fungus?

Are you certain about the fungal diagnosis? He /she isnt just dirty or scratched up? I wouldn't treat the cham with topical chems until you know for sure what it is.. a vet check up after an adventure like that is probably in order.

    Indoor tree

We use Schefflera, they're easy. We have one in a pot we move around the house / outside for Buddha our Veiled. He's big too, they can hold some weight.

fall from 3rd floor onto concrete

Wow. An amazing testament of the chameleons overall resilience! ...And I thought our cham falling off my shoulder onto the carpet was bad.. (I'm 5'3") LOL I've read about chameleons & falling - some of them puff up their bodies with air so they bounce, rather than splat. Also, I read about...

    Overwieight?

...and actually you have a Male veiled & he looks like a handsome young lad! Chameleons generally store their fat in the casque & tail base.. you have a growing boy, so dont skimp on feeding him those nutritious bugs!
