Got everything put together fig seems to really be liking his new cage. He’s got a lot more sticks to climb on. I raised his cage as well as added coraplast boards to the sides to help with humidity and insulation and I put window film on the front it’s reflective to him but see though for me :)
Okay so fig has not been very happy as of late and has had to spend quite a while in a medical tote and every time he is put in the tote he improves significantly his engery is boosted etc but as soon as he goes back in his big cage he starts to have problems again I’ve talked to my vet my...
So fig the past few weeks has been pretty unsocial like running from me ect he’s eating pooping ect but he will not come out from behind one of his plants like at all and he only comes out if I’m not here and even then he hasn’t really been doing that today I caught him sleeping during the day...
So I have now added another reptile to my very small collection lol I got a bearded dragon and I know this is a chameleon forum but I wanted opinions on the mercury ray uvb and uva bulb it’s an all in one and I feel like I should use two Separate bulbs but I’m just not sure I have a friend that...
So again here we are with my stubborn chameleon. It is coming up on three weeks and fig has not pooped I’ve looked and looked but I can’t find any either he eats and drinks i checked all temps heat bulb was going out and so I changed it plus increased room temp as well as doubled his spraying...
Okay so fig hadn’t pooped for like 4ish days and I wasn't too worried figured it was from switching to dubias but today he later the biggest log I had ever seen a do I just want to make sure it’s normal and yes his urate is rather orange I’ve been having humidity issues so I’ve been spraying the...
Hey so it’s been a little while so I just wanted to come and update figs plant are doing really well and so is fig I finally faced my fears and bought Dubias! So if you guys have any tips for care and what they eat it would be appreciated! And figs little cask has gotten so big it’s so cute!!
Okay so since winter hit my ficus Benjamina took a nose dive and died. So I’ve been looking into a new tree and I read that most plants are okay as long as they aren’t spiky smooth or sap producing. So I wanted opinions on a polyscias balfouriana. The branches and leaves look really good!!
So I’m having a hard time regulating figs cage Temps as winter comes along and it gets colder I have a heater in the room that keeps the room around 70 and I have a 100watt basking bulb with a basking temp of i’m gonna say 83ish. Took him to the vet for a check up and he said it was a bit cold...
Hey so I’m still not sure how old fig is and I would like to know so that way I’m not under or over feeding him he currently gets 5-8 medium crickets with 4-5 black soilder fly larvae everyday With the occasional horn worm and wax worm. For reference this is him next to a US large McDonald’s...
Out of curiosity can I give fig the little baby horn worms or should I wait until they get a bit bigger he has like really really white urate and I don’t wanna over hydrate him by feeding the big ones.
Fig hadn’t pooped in a while and today he finally did and I just want to make sure everything is normal especially since I read it’s not supposed to smell and it does.
So I switched out one of fig plants today (i was having problems with it) and I didn’t realize how big it was until I put it in there😅. Also I am looking into switching out the vines I know they are irritants but he is rarely on them anyways.
So I fed fig and he did eat quite a lot but I’ve never seen him really get bloated after eating but he looks a lot bigger than normal so I was wondering if it cause for concern I haven’t seen any poop but sometimes it’s hard to find. When he is extended he still has a bit of a gut.
Just wanted to post another update we seem to finally be getting somewhere with his eye!!! It’s not 100 percent better yet but he opens it a good amount now and always while eating so I’m super happy about that!
So I have been having a gnat problem with my plants I took all of them out debugged and replanted them but I really don’t want them to come back so I was considering buying a citronella plant since they are bug repellant but I’m not sure if they are safe for chameleons. Does anyone know anything?
Heyo so it’s been a while and I wanted to give an update on fig. He now has an extra large cage which is almost completely fake plant free! His health has improved tremendously he eats regularly and he has found a few new favorite snacks. I am still having trouble with one of his eyes I have...
