I am curious about this too! I also live in central Florida, I recently moved my veiled to an outdoor enclosure. My concern is the temps in the summer..I know some folks leave chams outdoor all year long, with the exception of freezing weather.
I was told also if they are getting natural...
The feces could be landing in a plant.
A dripper is the trick I think make sure it drips down as many leaves as possible...For some reason this will always trigger my cham to poo!
You can also put warm water in an eye dropper and drip it on his head.
Some chams will take to that and drink...
It looks like you have some great space to free range!!
I am just starting a free range too...I do worry about my veiled falling also. Although when i let him climb outside he never falls and takes some pretty big risks.
I started with some Manila rope i 'crocheted' for when he wants to climb...
How old is he?
I was concerned about my veiled because he was grey all the time except for night time.
He was maybe 3 moths at the time. He has since shed a few times and his colors are brighter.
I also put him in a larger enclosure, he is able to climb higher than my head and i think he is...
My baby cham was eating SO much too until i realized...I need to get him bigger feeders! Try larger feeders, I have Large crickets and medium super worms for my 3.5 month old veiled.
Rule of thumb is nothing bigger than their head is wide.
A thermometer and hydrometer will teach you so much...
UPdate on Max:
He is doing great, I have recently moved him into his 4 ft viv.
His colors are getting brighter and brighter.
I think his greyness was due to an up coming shed and his age.
Thanks everyone!!
No tomato!
I accidentally fed Max-A-Meleon broccoli one time...It was shredded and i thought it was cabbage. He LOVED it, thought i may have killed him but he is still kickin:)
My veiled enjoys basil, fresh mustard greens, and lettuce.
You can plant them in small planters and put them in...
In addition to the oranges being good feeders...what about lemons, and more specifically blood oranges?
Also citrus trees in viv...?
I purchase a blood orange tree specifically for my veiled's large viv and I can't find anything for or against having the tree in with him...
This made me start thinking about my own hand washing situation...I certainly should do it more!
I sometimes catch myself thinking...'I just was holding a bunch of worms and crickets, now I'm doing X...'
This is so funny i just posted on a FB group a question about other veiled's temperaments!
That's great that he is responding positively.
I think i got pretty lucky too:)
I started offering my veiled greens at about 2 months.
started with mustard greens. Freshly picked. with in 30 seconds he was devouring them!
I would put them in the same location in a shallow small bowl so they stuck out near his basking spot.
I also use different types of lettuce, just...
