The worst case of MBD I have ever seen (video)

Absolutely awesome. You are doing such a great job. I always look for updates! And it is nice seeing good stories on this forum!! Congrats!!:)

you are a great person to spend most of your time nursing this gorgeous animal to help! i wish you and her the best! :D
goodluck

Amazing! My BF has been teasing me and questioning why I have to "feed the food" and dust and have all the lights etc... so I showed him the videos of this little girl. He might actually get it now! Good work!:)

so sad

tha is so upsetting. i really hope all goes well.

that reminds me of a turtle i got from an aquantence that had been kept in only kept it in an aquarium full of water in their basement for 3 years with no basking light and no UVB...they barely even fed it! i had to watch its shell slowly rot off its body for months before i got things even remotely under control but he eventually succumbed to the damage on his organs.

People really should be more responsible!

I was wondering (this may sound dumb) but i wonder if it would even be possible to brace the legs kind of like teeth braces and slowly get the chams legs a little straighter in time? I was so saddened by that vid especially when it took the previous owners that much time before they decided to give her up:mad::( I cant watch that again.

Hi all,

Little miss thing is doing great! She has been in the upgraded rehab enclosure with vertical space to climb for a week. She hasn't fallen once and is now hunting in the enclosure on her own rather than feeding in a tupperware. She isn't gaining any weight but she is still eating wonderfully and I think she may be growing :) She can stand on just her back legs now and is exhibiting "karate cham" poses when she is mad. Here is a vid of her right after her daily calcium. We will keep updating :)

Wow, I can't belive the difference between the first video and this one! The first video really got to me, but I am glad to see you got her healthier now and doing much better it seems.

It's been awhile, things are going well!

Hello everyone,

It's been awhile since we have had time to update on our little girl. She is improving in leaps and bounds. She has doubled in size and weight, eats everything in sight and is acting more and more cham-like. She loves to sit outside on the cham tree and bask.

Her legs and casque are still bowed and we may need to amputate her broken/dislocated leg in the future but right now she using it almost normally.

She is getting pretty shy now since she doesn't need to be handled for medications every day. Here is a short vid of her trying to hide from me this morning. Her bad leg is visible in this vid.

We also took in another rescue 2 months ago. He is a young male veiled who had MBD too. He was very wobbly, could not lift himself and had severe muscle tremors when he came to us. Now he is a perfectly normal little man :)

All can say is well done you :) what a transformation, keep up the great work you do! hopefully people out there who are deciding to keep a chameleon will see this thread, and realise that there is a lot more to keeping a specilised reptile than meets the eye!!!!!!!!! (Chamelenos are not for the faint of heart/amatures)

Thanks for the kind words :) we will try to post updates a bit more consistently on both the little ones :)
