Suggestions for rule updates

I think the following modifcations should be allowed: cropping, adjusting for brightness/contrast and colour correction (i.e. things you could do in camera, but some people prefer to have more control over the process in a .RAW workflow or Photoshop environment).

Also, borders sometimes enhance the appearance of a photo on a forum-/web posting.

Cropping is currently allowed.
Borders will not be allowed.

Does anyone have any thoughts about using software to adjust brightness, contrast, and/or color? Personally, I am not enthusiastic about images that show obvious characteristics of software manipulation. Tygerr has a good point with the fact that many cameras today have built-in functions for manipulating images.
