For those of us struggling with the care of wild caught chameleons, rescues, or otherwise ailing chams- now there is an-over-the-counter anti-coccidia, immunity-boosting product designed especially for reptiles, and field tested on a variety of chameleons. It was designed primarily to eliminate coccidia but has also been found effective against other infections and ailments (more details available on our website).

$24.97 per 1oz. bottle.
Contains approx. 300 doses.

The folks at Amber Technology have created a new natural and organic product for the treatment of parasitic infections, primarily coccidia, as well as other assorted ailments in reptiles. The product, called Reptaid™, now available exclusively through Chameleons Northwest, includes a variety of oils and herbs specifically chosen for their ability to eliminate coccidia and other parasites, fight infection (including chams suffering from signs of URI), and boost the immune system.

All natural and organic! No prescription necessary!

Chameleons Northwest participated in field testing and fine-tuning the formula while administering it to several "rescue" chameleons which suffered with a variety of ailments, from chronic eye issues to heavy coccidia infestation. We marveled at the results we witnessed and are excited to be introducing this new product to the reptile world.

Please see our website for details. Follow the links for Reptaid:

Also, do you know if it is coccidicidal or is it just inhibiting to coccidia? What else have you found it to be effective against?

We have personally used it succesfully against pinworms, coccidia (we do our own fecals and followup fecals), chams with signs of URI (uptilted head and throat full of bubbles), 1 pygmy cham with a black area on gum that looked like mouth rot (reptaid contains a natural antibiotic), 3 chameleons with eye issues (such as a single chronically closed eye or constant blinking and rubbing of the eye), low libido, depressed coloration.

The ingredients:
More about the herbs in this formula:

Olive Leaf - Helps keep colds and flu at bay, supports immune system, high in antioxidants. Olive Leaf is an excellent anti-microbial that will kill viruses and bacteria.

Mustard Seed - Used in fevers, colds and influenza. Helps move acute conditions from the body more quickly.

Black Seed - An overall tonic herb known for its effects on the respiratory system, stomach and intestinal tract, kidney and liver, and the circulatory and immune system.

Pau D’arco - South American herb that is used for parasites and fungus. Also used for dry cough, anti-inflammatory and blood cleansing. We also use this herb for it’s anti-bacterial properties. Large doses or continued use of this product can cause miscarriage in pregnant animals.

Cloves - To rid the body of any microscopic parasites and soothes the intestinal tract. Strong disinfecting action.

Grapefruit Seed Extract – Used as a parasitic for small parasites. Has anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-viral properties. For more information go to www.biochemresearch.com.

For lack of a better way to put it...
This stuff ROCKS!
I used the original version, and it's literally a miracle in a bottle.
Don't hesitate to buy this stuff. It will last you forever.

And it's completely natural!
Gesang, I will be calling you in a few minutes.

What would the dosage be for lets say an average size male adult panther and how long would you typically administer it for coccidia?

Dosage is .1ml (or .1cc) per 100 gram animal. An average adult male panther might be 150g, a young adult weighs about 100g. So, for a 150g animal, .15ml would be administered once a day for 10 days. It is ministered orally via small (1cc) needle-less syringe. We have 2 rescue chameleons that were thoroughly clean of coccidia after their first treatment.

Followup with 3 fecal exams, and thoroughly cleanse/sterilize the animals enclosure.

Sounds wonderful!
I would imagine this can be used as a periodic "Maintenance" regiman since it is all natural? Like a couple times a year even if there are no outward signs of a specific health problem? Just curious!

We have used it for that. The manufacturer also recommends using it when an animal is going to be placed in a high stress/high exposure setting- such as when doing a reptile show.
