He's a handsome boy..love the yellow and green! In one of those pics he looks like he's getting ready to shoot at your nose ring...LOL :p:)

Very handsome guy(girl). Just wondering, the brown on the top of the head, is that a burn of some sort?

i don't see how it could be, his light is a fair distance from his perch, i'd say about 10", it's only a 50w basking bulb

edit: he was rubbing his flaps to remove shed the other day, could it just be bruising?

Wow good eye there Carol. That does look like burn btw. From what Ive read on melleri discovery they are very easily burned. You might wanna change that bulb or move it a bit higher. I'd just change to plain old 60 watt household incandescent and leave it at the same height. jmo

I think I'll do that. Should I apply any sort of topical medication? I live with a pharmacist so we have everything imaginable. :p

he says he using a 50 watt 10 inches down below for basking, but maybe there is someway he got his head up there? Maybe its not even a burn then????

Glad to hear the brown is gone what ever it was. That guy has some killer colors and is so friendly. Still wish I had room for a mellers.:(

I'm in the process of building a free range setup for this guy, he's getting a little stir crazy in the 2x2x4...

I am sure he will love it!!! I let my chameleon free range out on my patio and he always just seems so happy and energtic out there!

Glad it was a false alarm. Have you gotten into melleri discovery? You can connect with all the other melleri keepers on here. Awesome species, I just dont have the room that they require though.
