New dad baby panther came today.

I had him in his plastic tub I was instructed to use and he was light colored and moving all over now I put him in his cage with plants and vines he became dark with white stripe but he hasn't eaten offered crickets and meal worms. Normal ?? He was walking all over my hands but didn't want to stress him to much. Any advice ?

Give him time to settle in. It's not unusual for them to skip eating for a day or two when you first get them. Give him lots of hiding places and try not to stare at him. Congratulations.

No stairing lol got it. Just wondered why in the bin he was light colored and moving all over now he's on a dark vine laying under the lamp kind of sunning his side ? He did drink off leaves and vines. Thank you for your help.

He's probably darker to better soak up the light and heat.

Makes sense ok bc I heard females get dark if they are unhappy. Didn't want to think he didn't like his new home. But he was under light and drinking. Thank you
