L Lindasjackson Chameleon Enthusiast Nov 5, 2021 #81 @JacksJill is a t8 as good as a t5 and can a rainbow Jackson’s be comfortable in a 18x18x36 cage?
JacksJill Website Manager Staff member Nov 5, 2021 #82 T8 is inferior to T5 in out put and penetrating down into the cage. Go with T5. 18x18x36 is acceptable for Tjj males and females but not for xanths.

Click to expand... My cage is smaller because of the rainbow Jackson not needing the larger types of enclosure so the t5 is too big for it.

L Lindasjackson Chameleon Enthusiast Nov 7, 2021 #88 Exact size does not matter as much as the uvb output does.
JacksJill Website Manager Staff member Nov 7, 2021 #89 I use T5 in my 36 inch cages it is not too much UVB if that is what you are getting at. It should run the length of the cage top.
