I am sorry in advance for my questions. I am sure most of the people that have used this forum for a long time must be getting tired of the same questions all the time. With that said I have spend hours reading past posts.
My son Samuel who is 11 wanted a chameleon. Me being the mother LOL must find out all the proper info. "Our" veiled chameleon is a female and she is 8 weeks old.
I also when the pet store route and as I am sure many of you did the same and bought things that are not the best of a Chameleon. I will be taking out the waterfalls in the morning.
We bought a Exo Tera Glass Terrarium (pet store said you can not keep a chameleon in a mesh cage because it gets to cold in the winter and is too hard to regulate the heat????) As Cammy our little chameleon is only young I am sure I can keep her in the Glass Terrarium for now. It is 24x18x18.
I have looked at a Exo Terra Flexarium Screened Cage. 100gallon. the size is 30x16x48. We only have one pet store in town. The next town over has a store that sells Chameleons, but they gave us the same advise.... use a glass cage and have a waterfall.
I am not a handy person so I do not want to make her a cage. I want to buy one. Is there another brand besides Exo Terra that I can look at. Is 30x16x48 going to be big enough for Cammy when she is full grown. Is there another size that is better.
Cammy seems to be doing fine. She is eating about 8 crickets a day but sadly she has been drinking from the waterfalls. She really is moving around in her cage.
I am really confused about cages? Also do the creened cages have places on top for say the digital themo wire? I love Cammy but I sure do not want crickets getting out.
Thanks for reading this.
