I was really hoping for male, but I don't see any obvious spurs...

Spurs would be a very obvious bump on the back feet of this little one, and seeing as there are no spurs I am going to tell you it is a female :) The great thing about veiled chameleons is that they are one chameleon where it is very easy to sex them at an early age. I am sorry for any disappointment that this answer might cause, but I was in your situation before, and ended up loving my little girl and her personality so much. They are a joy!

Welcome to the forums. Camigirl is correct. The little bump on the heel is very obvious. Both male and female veileds have the greatest personalities.

I have a couple of blogs attached for you below. The first is on general care with a link about females. The second is about egg laying and the laying bin. Females can and often do lay eggs without a male even being around so by 5 months of age you will need to provide her with a laying bin at all times.

Ah, thank you! I suppose Little is a unisex name. :) As I was hoping for a male, I will show this female as much love and proper care as I can - we just hand fed some fruit flies a few minutes ago. She is already as sweetheart and quick to eat and drink from my hands! I couldn't be happier.

And yes, I was hoping to avoid the egg-laying process (this is why I wanted a male) - but I will be sure to do this. Thank you so much for the info, both of you!
