Is this normal?

True is some cases but here where I live there are a lot of bug places and reptile specialists. I’m not trying to be Sensitive but that is also very blunt to say when someone is asking for help... even though this person might not get it some do..... especially when people like my self who have done research and do our best before hand not after.
I know it was not made towards me directly but this definitely discouraged me from posting on here

Are you quoting the wrong post?

How was that post blunt or mean? I was just defending why I told OP about snails and how they could help them.

Someone said, "The OP shouldn't be worried about feeders right now" but, yes, yes he should be. As it is very likely another huge issue of the many he has going on.

You are worried about a varied diet, that is made obvious by your posts talking about feeders. So this was not in reference to you. I was just saying. That instilling good behaviors and patterns from the get go, is a good thing, all the time. Because once a bad habit starts, its hard to break.

no I’m not responding to the wrong post I am responding to you because you have been so on point with responding to me that I got discouraged by your response to his question I understand trying to correct bad habits or cut out bad habits in general but once again you’re not having a physical conversation with someone so words can be interpreted extremely different I look forward to feedback and that is why I post as much as I can to gather as much information from the most experience people , but sometimes how that information is given is also a major deterrent for someone to ask for more help in the future and that is why I responded to this in the manner I did. And you are 100% correct I stated that I’m not trying to be sensitive nor was this directed at me personally but I am still a member of this group and that did discourage me from posting I’m not trying to get in an argument I’m just expressing how it came across to me

Okay, well sorry you felt that way. I don't know why you felt that way.

I guess it was the "They should start breeding bugs first" thing?

That's okay if you don't want to breed bugs, I just didn't understand why throwing bugs on to what they need to change being an issue.

If it is diffucult to breed bugs that require nothing more than 1 time a day misting and some food, then you should not have a cham. Was the point I was trying to make, maybe I should have worded it better.

Lol you fine just wanted to say, something because it really got to me. Personally I am trying to hard and listening to everyone who gives feedback

I've just been watching, and watching, and watching...

This whole thread escalated drastically. I know that I always want to try to bring "peace" and "harmony", but honestly, OP please don't be stubborn, your chameleon really has a HUGE bread in his arm for it to be a minor case of MBD.

And your only plant is toxic by the way, and Veiled's are notorious for eating plants.

This stuff breaks my heart. Having my Cham has made me love and respect these animals so much. It has taught me to overcome things that I normally wouldn't think if caring for (roaches) and while Veiled are known to be mean they are still so great looking to me.

The price people charge for them is just not fair because they need people who actually care about them to buy them and veileds are always going to be the guinea pigs for people trying to get into chams because the price is cheap.

I'm sorry sir but you may feel your Cham is fine and maybe the MBD has slowed since the calcium upgrades but your far from done reaching proper Cham servitude levels.

I hate to say it but you do what you want but if you truly do love your little guy please listen to the advice you have received here. If money is an issue just say that it is and stop acting like a tough guy. This animal is an innocent that didn't get a choice so please give it the best life you can.

The bottom line(s) has/have been repeated multiple times... chameleons aren't just pets; this is a hobby. They are considered ADVANCED for the detail and attention needed for their care. Unfortunately mister OP but your cham came to you with MBD, or just has developed it, and you need to up your game now that it is in your care. You came here for advice, and got way more useful, constructive advice than most people get because they truly genuinely care about your chameleon that is very much ill. Everyone seems defensive and rude because you do seem like you don't care enough, aren't prepared, and aren't willing to do what's necessary to take care of this animal.

I love and support all the enthusiasts on this site who've taught me SO much the past 6+ months to allow me to feel even slightly confident in my care for my first cham. I'm working on a cage upgrade today if you actually want some real help and and advice.

Thanks to all for your hard work all over this beautiful site. ;) I wouldn't know what I would do without this community!
