Help plz,my chameleons eyes arent doing too well:( He has developed white stuff/dots on his eyes,he can open one(thankfully, gotta feed him some how),hes growing says the vets. Ive taken him to the vets 3 times now because of this, hes had meds, and they say hes going to be on meds for the rest of his life,i have to put calcium on his crickets daily:(. Anyone know why/how this coulda happend, the vets took a calcification(i dont spell too well) from his eye(s) to see what happened. Any suggestions on what else to do?

Sounds good, plz be on tommorow, because he is sleeping right now,i dont wanna stress him out some more (had to give him his meds couple minutes ago:( )But ill get em tommorow.

Howdy Bucky,

Try setting your camera on Macro. It's trying to focus on objects in the background.

What part of the world are you located?

What medications are they/you giving him?

What lights do you have on your chameleon's cage?

This is what Bucky said in a PM: "My cham Louie, has white abseses on his eyes, the vets took em off,and we are giving him some sort of eye drops for him. His meds are baytril and omega 3."

Hopefully these will be more clear, and yes i said that,I meant to say they took off some white abseses, but not all, there is still some,i just bought a brand new plant for him today,so ill shower him soon. I use a 60watt and another 60 watt bulb in a smaller heatbulb with light setting and a UVB bulb that covers almost the whole cage, only a few inches to let the dripper work.

How's he doing?

Hi there! What kind of UVB light are you using (exact product name please)? One of your earlier pictures showed a limb that did look a bit distorted like MBD. Did your vet give a name for his eye affliction? Are the white spots bacterial or mineral in nature? I would add some real potted plants to your cage to boost humidity and increase surface area for drinking. Is he eating on his own?

Oh,sorry for the double threads goin,im just frusterated:mad: I am using repti-glo 10.0 exo terra (I was looking at the wrong thing lbesok). And yesterday i went out and bought this huge schefflera, washed it did everything to make it chameleon safe etc...And no my vet didnt, she thinks it may be because of his kidneys, but after i saw that report im starting to think...I dont think she prescribed that I give him more calcium because he has MBD anyways, she says hes strong. And in the past 2 days i havent been able to feed him because his eyes have closed:( But i do hand feed him msot of the time. Right now im not sure what the white spots on his eyes are.

What kind/brand of supplements are you using and how often?
What are you feeding/gutloading your insects with? Please be specific.

I am using reptivite for vitamin A,and repacal for D3 and calcium. I gutload my crickets leafy green veggies.

Once every week. Tonight, when i was bout to put him in the shower, and i had it goin, wen it was all humid,BOTH his eyes opened! and they stayed opened for the rest of the night,he drank and had beutiful colors, but we aint out of the woods yet:p but this is a really great improvement i feel, ill post pics soon.

Here are some recent pics of Louie in the shower tub AFTER the shower, dont worry i wouldnt put him in there with the hard water dropping on him:p

And even when he was in the tub he drank the little droplets running down the side,i even put two crickets in there, but i think he was worried bout escape more.

Hey, I'm glad the shower thing was therapeutic for him. Louie is gorgeous, I love him. He's so lucky to have you caring for him! Keep up the good work. What is his local Diego Suarez?
