Yea we go through 80 lbs a dog food a month... ANd they have sensitive tummies so its not cheap either.. But I wouldnt trade em for anything..
Julirs: No harm done. Like I said, I was breeding her for a pet. She is an awesome dog and so very loyal. We missed out on the first 1.5 years of her life and wanted a puppy from her to carry on. We also know she is smaller so those who dont have space for a large dog might luck out with a smaller Dane. BUT we decided against it as I dont want to risk losing her as I know there are a lot of issues possible with birthing. I love her too much to risk it, even though I have had over 30 people ask to purchase a puppy. Its never about $, its about my devotion to her and her to me...and she means more to me than ANY amount in the world...I don'y think anyone has ever had a Dane like Twiggy..
Thats why Im praying that she gets on this bissell box, to bring more attention to her breed and to show the world just how awesome she is and how much my life has changed with her in it.. She truly is my best friend. I dont care how pathetic that may sound..She has loved me through everything.

Man you are not kidding on the sensitive stomach issue! Mike gets upset stomach from just about anything! He had a "Great Dane" runny poop attack Friday which ended up with my husband calling and asking, "Do you know how to get diarhea out of carpet?" He apparently did not see the monster pile also until he stepped in it? How does one not notice something like that? I always have Pepto or Tagamet on hand. Nothing is creepier than Great Dane stomach sounds! I don't think you sound pathetic-I am sure I sound the same way when I gush about Mike-there has never been a dog quite like him either-he is our baby!

Ye, TOki is dealing with it..and Im not sure why. Im thinking he was trash raiding..he also like to get in the dirty laundry and drag out towels... But yea, he was ringing the bell at 2 and 445am this morning.. I was not a happy camper but better than the floor!!
That was our New Years eve.. they got snuck some food and oh man, I was HAND scrubbing it outta the carpet.. Hence why I am OVERLY thrilled that I won a steam cleaner for Twiggys entry! It comes in handy..

Can you believe the difference 6 months makes!?
Here is Twiggy and toki (the puppy) in oct
and here they are in March
He got fixed the other day and weighed in at 102 at just 10 months old. Twiggy is 120 at 2.5 years now.

Thank you!! Yea, she's spoiled rotten and my male got fixed Thursday so its making a HUGE difference around here.. a much needed difference!
Today is the last week of winners in the contest so Im hoping they will decide the top 5 pretty quickly! Im anxious!!!

Welp, Im worried now..
We went 11 weeks being the only Dane int he contest and now.. Another snuck in the final week. A male. I dont think he's as good lookin at mine, but Im partial..so shucks. I knew if we were the only Dane, we had a really good shot as this..but now Im worried.
The winners will be announced this week.. I would love this opportunity for Twiggy. I think it could open up a lot of doors for her (and me) if she gets on this box!! And Id love to donate some money to a Great Dane Rescue!!!

We didnt place int eh top 5...
Iw ould have been proud even if the other Dane placed.. But nope..
Maybe Im partial but I know that a Great Dane (especially one of different coloration) would grab attention from a mile away on a product box.. Nothing agains thte winner, and congrats to them..but really. I dont see anything extraordinary about them.. in fact one looks A LOT like last years winner.. Im floored right now..
We get compliments everywhere we go. I have people all over the US write to me and tell me how gorgeous she is..and yes, not even placing int he top 5? I dont care about their product..the donation would have been wonderful to give.. I dont care about self recognition..I care that my dog is being overlooked when she is just amazing and has so much to offer to everyone..People have no idea how amazing she is..really..she deserved to be int hat top 5..maybe not first but atleast somewhere in there...

Yea.. But those places in the originals were from voters on the website.. You would thinkt hey would consider their popularity as well. We beat out the other dane in that aspect but I just cant believe neither of them places.. I can see the retriever..its a family dog.. I guess maybe they are going by what people will recognize and Great Danes arent as well known..But I know a spotted huge dog on a box will grab attention either way..and they put what it is on there.. Mine came with a chocolate lab on it.. Good for them..

This is from last weekend. We took them on a hike and this was twiggy int he back of the car waiting patiently.
And here they both are waiting for dad to come out so we can go!!!
And heres our boy, Toki, at the Dog park. Dont mind his silly ears that dont want to stay floppy!
And both of them at the park, which they are closing down

Pacing.. I entered my fave pic of my dogs in a Photo contest to win either a new camera or 2grand.. They were gonna announce at 8 and have now pushed it back to 10pm.. Im nervous. They kept pushing back the deadline which made me think they had few entries so I might stand a chance.. I looked at past winners and not all were professionals so that gave me some relief.. I would really really love to win.. I was devastated when my girl didnt place in the top five and this would really boost my confidence...Sigh..So Ill just keep waiting.. (waiting on the world to change...)
