First-time chameleon owners, seeking knowledge :)

Hi all--

My boyfriend and I bought a one-month-old veiled chameleon from the pet shop last week and have been gathering as much information on them as we can. This forum has been very helpful, so thanks to all.

Anyway, at the pet shop we were told it was a male chameleon, however, we discovered afterwards that it is a female since it lacks the spur. So I started wondering, is she going to lay eggs? If so, when will this occur (at what age)? What should we do to accommodate to her needs when (or if) she lays eggs? Any light on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Chameleons

Watch for it being eggbound....you will have to take it to the vet....you can tell when they are going to lay eggs because they will be on the ground a lot and if so lay a tubberware box with some soil from the pet store....it should be about 8 inches ..........and they start laying eggs at around 8 months i think
