what r these "black crickets from hell" i just picked up my order of 1000 1/4's and they seem small, but they are black in color and usually they are a lightbrown, they r from the same people i get all my other crickets from but this is the first time i got smaller ones from them and i was thinking they r black because they r young but not sure???

Someone with more info can corect me if Im wrong. But from what Ive been told. Crick producers have had to introduce a new strain of crick that is resistant to the crick virus/plaque that was going around. So the black cricks some of the breeders are now selling are a diff type of crick. They are reported to be more aggressive than the brown ones and alot more cannibalistic than the brown ones. My company is still selling the brown cricks thank god...

very interesting! i read some where that they where breeding a hybreed cricket now in order to get rid of this problem.
