If someone would have told me that I would be happy/thrilled to see a grasshopper mating for a lizard that lives in a tree I would not have believed them

Ok folks, I need to know…how big do the adult/breeding size grasshoppers get? I saw a lubber a couple of years ago and the thing freaked me out with how big and buggy it was.

I think it depends on the species, my adults are 2 - 3 inches.

They have no shame, even when I am putting their food they do it in front of me!

I might need to start breeding grasshoppers... one got loose in my house a few months ago. and it took two weeks to find it. at least it wasn't a roach

I’m trying it. I placed an order about a week ago. I don’t like hoppers myself either, they too freak me out. But then again all the other bugs freaked me out at one point too. I have vague memories of me screaming when a cricket got on me. Now it’s no big deal…I am so with ya on this...
All things bugs I am pretty ok with now until they get big. Then they creep me out. Dubia give me the major ick once they get bigger than an inch long lolI’m trying it. Yeah no when they end up crawling up my hand it takes everything in me not to fling them.

My adult females 3+ inches, adult males 2 inches. As adults, they are all very calm. I currently have Gray Birds and Spotted Birds. @MissSkittles you know I'm not insect friendly but these grasshoppers, as adults, are extremely calm. I can open the door and they never move.

As long as they make gloves and tongs - I swear to never, ever touch any feeder. The rule in my house is : if a feeder escapes, it is fed immediately to the hungrier Cham! Chomp, chomp.
