Chameleon Eye when shedding

My cham started shedding on his head last night, and since this morning he has had dead skin on his eye. He's been rubbing it on a branch and I held him under a warm shower for awhile, which he really seemed to like. After his shower, though, his eye started looking really weird. After he rubs it, it looks like there is a bulge next to his eyeball that is purpleish. I finally got a couple pictures of it:

Should I take him to the vet, or could this be normal when shedding?
Should I be doing anything besides extra misting to help him shed?

Has it stayed like that since u showered him?

No, it goes away but when he rubs his eye on the branch again because the skin is still there it comes back for about a minute

I'm certainly no expert but seems no one else has thought to answer ill tell u I think it's his way of cleanin their eyes. They close them then bulge them out. I don't know why it's purple tho... Sorry I couldn't help more
