Chameleon Advisor Side Hustle

I've studied chameleon science (deeply) and cared for them in the past. Anybody know any good ways to make some money as a Chameleon advisor or something? I'm not being greedy here, I was just wondering if there was a way to make a small amount of money on the side for this. Lmk on your thoughts.

Yeah I get that. I think that, for me, I love working with chameleons and I love helping people with theirs, I'd love to do it for hours but I can't just quit my job or studies to open up time for that. Part of the reason I ask is to not just mindlessly monetize such amazing animals, its more so to be able to do it more. It's kind of like, if I love splitting logs, I'll have to stop doing it or limit how much I do it because I'll need another job, but if I sell those logs I cut, or my knowledge on log-splitting, I can split logs all the live long day carefree.

I appreciate the environment and community that exists on these forums. It allowed me to take care of my old chameleon and prepare for the new one I'm getting next year. Part of me wishes I could work with them more, which is why I was looking for a job opportunity, but yeah I get your points. Thank you for putting that in perspective for me.

One option would be to offer a free class on basic reptile husbandry thru perhaps a locally owned pet store. It kills me not just when chameleons suffer from poor husbandry, but the bearded dragons and leopard geckos. I think they are probably the most popular and so are more likely to suffer incorrect husbandry.

I am currently studying evolutionary biology, zoology, and cellular biology. I've cared for a Panther Chameleon and am currently doing extensive research on a close cousin to the Panther, the Carpet Chameleon. It's a very interesting family of animals, and has peaked my interest in not just what care they should get, but why and how they are able to take advantage of such care. Sometimes, I'll find something out about them that in no way benefits our care, it's just interesting.

Silas, that’s very admirable. I can tell you with 10 years of experience, I’m still learning. And no two chameleons are the same, even in the same morph and sex. We all want to help keepers avoid unnecessary cost and stress in raising these creatures. Monetizing it though is very difficult. Reptile shops in my area are closing left and right. Podcasts don’t make much money either, if at all. Best of luck to you
