I'm not in the market today, but wanted to put out some feelers to see if anyone is working with K. Boehmei and has sexually mature males or females that would be available this summer. I have 3 three holdbacks from 2020 clutch, and am contemplating finding either a male or female mate to...

    Chameleon Art

One of my favorite artists (and also sorta kinda local) has a one-of-a-kind chameleon painting up for grabs. @lurker._ on IG. I have one of his pieces in my office… been hoping he’d have another chameleon piece available for a long time. Bad timing on my part, but sharing in case anyone is...

    Hemipenis Prolapse and Amputation

2.5 weeks ago, the patriarch of my chamily, Donnie, prolapsed. I came home from work to find him distraught and dragging the prolapse along rough branches. I believe he had been that way for at least 24 hrs (I had been working late that week). I did some frantic calling and searching. My...

    Building 16’ of outdoor enclosures

Getting started on another outdoor enclosure, but this time I am going to builder larger runs to subdivide, rather than individual setups. I gated in my veggie garden, and we are going to build 2 8x2x6’ (maybe 7’) enclosures along the left wall. They’ll be subdivided into 3 4’ wide enclosures...

    Retained sperm / clutches

Hello. I have a female who was imported from the wild over two years ago. She was gravid when imported and laid a fertile clutch of eggs that hatched a little over a year ago. The first clutch had a seven month incubation period. Nearly 18 months after she laid the clutch that I dug up and...

Got gnats? Katchy’s on sale Black Friday

Fyi that Amazon has the Katchy device on sale for $29.xx until midnight tonight. If you get the white one there’s another 10% off coupon. I think I paid $50 over the summer. Seems like a common item recommended for those with gnats.

    Chameleon Rooms and Visual Barriers

I'm curious what techniques people are using to create visual barriers in situations such as breeder rooms, chameleon rooms, and greenhouses - where there are cages facing each other or in sight of each other (such as cages lining the walls in the shape of an L). I am not looking to set up a...

    DIY Substrate Tray

What a productive weekend! Though I have a million things to do around the house, I spent the weekend bossing my husband around, making custom bug cages, a frog viv, and substrate trays for the 2x2x4 enclosures. I'll be updating as we go along on the bin, should it help someone else down the...

Weird ... plant pest? In cage and on cham

I’ve had a really weird thing crop up in Penelope’s cage. I’ve noticed these little bumps on Penelope, but she has an eye issue and I thought maybe this was some complication related to that. The vet didnt mention them at a recent visit. Upon closer inspection, I started to notice these...

    Mistking error - question

Hello. Today My MistKing seems to have run the tank dry. Thankfully I had not just refilled it or I’d have 5 gallons of water draining out. I did have a slight overflow but nothing too serious, thankfully. I woke up and noticed that the Mister was running on empty, which has happened before...

    Hatching and feeding baby Mantids

I have recently started gathering, buying, and hatching mantis to feed the Chameleons. Originally, I had decided that Raising mantids would be too much work and too little reward. But I found mantis ooths over the winter at my local park and decided to give them a try.… Over the winter it...

    Oops - Kinyongia Boehmei

This is Lucy and Desi. My 7th and 8th “it was an accident, babe.” Saw them at a reptile show and couldn’t walk away. Both are dwarf fischer’s chameleons and are imports. They looked in pretty good shape (although understandably stressed now). Wish me luck. I’m very nervous!
