    Hard ball

Try feeding your chameleon hornworms, or superworms, both those things make my veiled go crazy. While he's not as enthusiastic about crickets, he will still munch em' down. :D

    Yawning

They actually do 'yawn' occasionally! Sometimes they do seem to be stretching their jaw and I've heard of others saying that they observe them doing it to help stretch their skin during a shed. However, it could also be a sign of something bad such as a respiratory infection if the yawn is...

    Chameleon Bites

Hahahaha the built in handle on top cracks me up. Took my veiled Nasir in today for a check up and needless to say the Dr. had zero problems getting a clean look at the entirety of my guy's mouth.

reptile vets in northern indiana area

I looked up the location of your town, and unfortunately I think you are too far from my vet in Downers Grove Illinois. I recently took Nasir to Dr. Todd Gray and was very pleased with my experience! He was very knowledgeable and has had much experience with chameleon. I went with him prepared...

    Which Humidifier?

Hey there, that humidifier looks very nice! I'm currently using a much cheaper walgreens humidifier as I needed a quick fix for the dryness in my home during this winter! Which setting on your humidifier do you prefer to use for your chameleon, warm or cool mist?

where to buy variety of insects?

I buy hornworms and feeders from Linda at the local expo once or twice a month. She has some quality bugs, I usually pick up 2-3 pods of hornworms from her at a time. I've never had a single worm from her die on me. If she notices that there is a dead worm in a pod I'm interested in she gladly...

    Humidifiers?

Distilled water is preferred. After a long time minerals from the water can build up inside the humidifier causing them to stop working properly! If you can afford it, used distilled in your humidifier. I have hard water near where I live, so distilled water works best for me!

    Large Screen Enclosures

I sure wish there was someone who made a 30x30x60, I'd order one tonight! I've already considered making a new homemade enclosure with my father, thing is, it's still quite cold up here and right now we have both cars taking up all the work space (garage). In the summer I think I'll make him...

    A new beginning.

That should be fine depending on the wattage of the bulb. Whats really important is the distance from the bulb to the screen! If your chameleon is hanging directly under the bulb upside down on the screen then your chameleon could be burned on it's underside! I would say make sure the bulb is a...

    Large Screen Enclosures

Hello, Lately my 9 month old veiled, Nasir, has been looking quite cramped in his 24x24x36 enclosure which was custom built by my father and I. I've decided that I'd like to get him a new and larger enclosure and I was considering either an LLL 2x2x4 or a DIY cages 2x2x4. They both seem...

    A new beginning.

I agree with the others, your enclosure is looking good! I think that a few more horizontal sticks and another vine or two wouldn't hurt.. They really like to climb around and your new cham is going to be exploring everything inch of his enclosure it can get too. Make sure your chameleon can't...

    Baby veiled chameleon temps

First of all, welcome to the forums! Those temps sound like they will be alright. Monitor your cham; if he starts gaping he may be too warm under the basking light but at 85* he should be comfortable. It's harder to tell if they are not getting enough heat, however, so for a young cham like...

How do I transplant Pothos plant!

Hahaha... I completely agree with Dan; the are hard to kill, almost takes effort! Although, that's what people said about the umbrella plants too, but I've had little success getting them to thrive.
