Hard ball

So my male veiled won't eat anything besides crickets and mealworms. I have tried different foods but that's the only thing he will eat. I have a colonie of roaches going and would prefer if he eat those, but with no luck.
So for the last week, I have been playing hard ball with him by only give very little crickets and lots of roaches. He's winning. Lol
Any ideas?

Have you tried putting the rouches in tith the crickets? Turn the roaches on their backs so they move more! I think he needs a good talking to.

I have a plastic bowl, close to his relax spot where he always eats. I mix the roaches and crickets together. But he only picks out the crickets and doesn't even touch the roaches. I was hoping he would catch a roach by mistake and eat it. But nope! Damn accuracy. Lol

Don't you hate it when you think they LOVE something, then you go and buy 1000, and he/she has totally lost intrest and wont eat them!!!

Usually, if they have eaten and enjoyed something in the past, chances are very good you can re-spark him intrest again.
If he has never liked it, then he probably never will, but may still eat a few.

Just don't offer that feeder for a long time, weeks, then let him go w/o food a few days (assuming he is over 10 months old) and then offer him the feeder.

It works sometimes!!

Try feeding your chameleon hornworms, or superworms, both those things make my veiled go crazy. While he's not as enthusiastic about crickets, he will still munch em' down.

I would offer roaches, then roaches, then roaches, then roaches, until he gives in. If that is the only thing you offer he will get the idea. Also only offer them every other day.

Thanks for all ideas and help. The only think I have to give right now are crickets, super/meal worms, wax worms, and roaches. I hate crickets and was hoping he would upgrade. I'm not giving up, I just wish someone had an idea on tricking him to eat them.
This summer I should have more access to different types of worms and foods.

Oh yeah, I have a great size garden that always has grasshoppers in it. Theyre naturally gut loaded with great vegs. I hope he will eat those too, cause I need a little pay back. Hahahahah!
