Kepler's eye bulging while sleeping

I just noticed tonight that his eyes are very bulgy during sleep. He's been fine the past couple of days so I'm kind of worried since I've never seen this before with him. Also searching the forums doesn't turn up much on night bulges =( These are the best pics I could get given the circumstances, but they don't really convey how much larger his eyeballs are than their usual size.

(oops, woke him up...still bulgy)

Any idea why they do this, and if it is something to be concerned about? I mentioned in my previous thread that I put up a 15w CF bulb just to light up his cage more - could this have anything to do with it? It's been in his cage for about a week now and is only for added light - it produces little to no heat.

And I've filled out 'the sheet' previously, see my other thread.

Amy my female Veiled was like that for a couple of nights last summer! She never had any problems with her eyes, just that she puffed them up hugely at night for some reason. Just give him extra mistings for a few days in case there is something stuck in there. Here is a pic of Amy - it was quite alarming at the time, but like I say, didn't seem to cause her any problems!

thanks Lily that's great to hear! I really didn't want to deal with more health issues right now. It's shower time for Kepler when I get home!

She never did that before or since those two nights! Maybe only briefly whilst shedding but not all night like that! It's so freaky when they do that! Keep an eye on him though just in case he has something going on there.
