What type laying bin?

Hi, I currently have a 12 month old female veiled chameleon that will soon be harbouring eggs (infertile) but what size and what type of bin should I use for my Cham? My cage is 3 ft high by 2 ft wide by 2 ft deep. What size bin should I use and laying material? Just sand or dirt mixes with sand? Pics would help much and links to where I should find it? I can get the sand at menards so that's not a problem and I might have a large enough bin in my house but I can go to waart and get one.
Thanks Rave

I use a 50/50 mix of playsand and organic soil in a 15inch deep garbage container that is always in her enclosure. Just make sure it stays moist enough that you can dig a tunnel to the bottom without it caving in. I also suggest making some kind of cover to go at least 4inches above it so it does not get too saturated if you have a misting system. Im on my phone right now so i cannot post pics but if you look under enclosures and supplies for my last posting there is some pics of Carmies enclosure and bin.

Thanks I will for sure look at the pics and thanks alot for the help!

Since your cage is large enough, what would probably make the best laying bin would be a simple 5 gallon bucket from any home improvement store.

Haha I went bargain hunting so I am going back to Runnings tomorrow and getting a new 5gal bucket and organic soil and sand... But do I really need sand? Or can I just use the soil?

I think the reason most people add sand is to help it form tunnels easily for them.

Pure soil can do that, but sand helps keep some of the moisture in the sand which lets it pack better.

(am I anywhere close on this? LOL)

Didnt want to make a whole new thread but What size laying bin can i fit into a 16x16x30? (What would be good dimentions)

12 x 12 x 12? That's my guess.

You might even want to go with 16x16x12...make the whole bottom of the cage a laying bin...That's just a guess on my part but I suspect it's not very far off of what you will get as recommendations from the experts.

I use a wheelie bin filled with play sand. Im not sure if you guys have wheelie bins but as the name suggests they are a bin about 2.5ft tall with wheels on :)
