Water in Dripper

Hi Everyone,

How's it going? I was curious to know if its OK to put regular tap water in my dripper or should I be using ROI or distilled water?

Howdy,

Many of us keepers have been succesful with regular tap water. If you think you have a problem with your tap water then look into an R.O. system .

If you use tap water though, it might be useful to use a water conditioner/dechlorinator.

if your water has chlorine init you can dechlorinate by boiling it for 5 min. Now if your water is treated with chloramines instead of chlorine u may want to treat it. your public utilities engineer can tell you how your water is treated, or maybe even your public utilities website.

rain water is the best !!! plus its free i live in the uk and we get plenty of it over here

I use tap water. It really depends on the quality of water. Most places, its safe enough for you so safe enough for the lizard too

I second what Sandra said. It really does depend on where you are. If you wouldn't drink it yourself or give it to your child, then you probably shouldn't give it to any animal (dog, cat, chameleon) straight out of the tap. I know there are places like that.
