Vet Check-up

Hi everyone,

I am a new chameleon owner. I have had Steve, my Nosy Be panther, for about 1.5 months now. He's about 6.5 months and he is captive bred from a wild caught sire.

I am taking him to a local exotic animal clinic Friday for a check-up. I am mainly taking him in because he sometimes makes a squeaky sound when he breathes. I'm paranoid and want to make sure it's nothing like I hope and I just wanted to make sure he's looking healthy.

I posted a summary of my care for Steve in another post.

While I'm at the clinic, is there anything that people recommend having done at their first check-up? His appointment is for Friday, so if anyone could respond before then, that'd be great!

Thank you for your help!

I highly recommend you take a fresh poop for a fecal. Bag one Thursday and keep it in the frig just incase he doesn't give you one Friday before the appointment.
