veiled mouth open

Today I brought my Veiled chameleon outside to get some sun and after about an 1hour I noticed he was sitting on his branch with his mouth open. I was woundering if Veiled chameleon could get over heated and this may be a was they cool down.

That is exactly what he was doing. If you see him doing it repeatedly or for any length of time then I would move him into a shaded area.

Like dogs, they open their mouth to cool off
