just got off the phone with Liddy from Kammerflage Kreations.
she was so nice and ansered all my questions over the phone.

I wound up buying a starter kit that contains the following:

24x12x24 cage
light hood and heat lamp fixture
reptisun 5.0 and 75w basking bulbs
temp and hummidity gauges
little dripper and misting bottle
3 types of supliments (rep-cal w/D3, herptivite, miner-al-0)
dusting cup
Flexible Hanging Vine

I also ordered a fica as it was just too easy to do so over the phone, and it's hard to get plants this time of the year where I live.

after I get everything set up, I was told that I can even send in a photo of the cage to make sure all is well set up before they ship the panther chameleon. not sure I need that type of help, but it's nice to know they care so much.

so by now you're probably wondering just what panther baby I ordered...
I ordered a male (75%)ambilobe/nosy be(25%) cross sired from Odo.
I understand that some here might not like cross bred chams, but I'm not posting this to start a debate.
this cham is most likely never going to be mated, it's just going to be a pet.

I also ordered 1 cup of fruit flys and 1 coulture of house flys will be shiped for this aprox 2 1/2 month old baby at the same time as the cham so he has plenty of food to start out with.

I'm so excited. I waited my whole life to finaly get a panther chameleon, and at 42, I'm finaly going to get one.
OMG, this is finaly happening...I can't wait.

I also want to thank everyone here in this forum, as the wealth of information here was just what I needed before I start with such an adventure.

Welcome, glad to hear you are so happy to be getting your first chameleon. I just had my first veiled babies start hatching and that is pretty special too.

This forum is very informative, with helpful, knowledge people. If you read lots of threads like I do, you can raise a beautiful healthy chameleon. It doesn't get better than this.:)

Looking forward to seeing its colors! Even if people don't like crosses I love the colors.

An upfront locale cross being kept as a pet and not bred, shouldn't cause any controversy.
I'm very excited for you! You've waited awhile.

Liddy is fabulous, and it sounds like she's set you up with absolutely everything you'll need. They're really great about giving you absolutely everything, at pretty much the same prices you'd pay at a pet store. Maybe a few bucks more because of shipping... but you have the added convenience of not having to hunt around for everything.

They are also great about providing really detailed care sheets which are a big help to new owners.

I got my latest boy from him, and he's been a joy. Post pics!

the funny thing is I was just in petco, pricing all the items I would need.
just incase I would buy another male from a different breader.
sadly, they had everything but the supliments I wanted as they had a "buy 1, get 1 free" sale, and was out of stock on almost everything.
so I went into another local petco, just to see if they had everything I would need to start.

just then, Liddy called me on the phone.
I sent her an email with a few questions that I was wondering about, and she was so nice and helpfull.
she didn't try to presure me at all in buying anything, and still wanted to send me some emails with care sheets for the cham and the food, before I desided if I should buy anything.

yes I could have saved a little in shipping by buying the cage and a few other things at petco...but I like the fact that the cage I'm going to get has a nice "feeding door" for when I use flying insects such as house flys.

I wound up buying everything in my car over the phone from Liddy.
what a pleasure.
she ansered all my questions on feeding such a young baby, and plenty of other questions too.
she also sent plenty of detailed care sheets for me to learn how to take care of the food requirements (crickets I'm used too, the rest is all new to me).

I couldn't ask for anything more, she was so helpfull.

anyway, it will take a week to get the cage and supplys. then I'll call them back to have the baby overnighted to me.

OMG, I can't wait...and yes, as a photographer, they'll be plenty of photos taken.
