Should I get a gecko?

I have no idea about stick bugs as I’ve never had them. @jamest0o0 should know. I know crickets will bite if left in the enclosure without a food source.
I hope you’ll be posting lots of pics of your gecko so I can live vicariously thru you. ?

Yeah he can eat the stick bugs. Depends which species, some are voracious and will eat a lot of plants, others are very picky.

I may be wrong, but I believe their care is very similar to that of chameleons. Many people/places say leopard (and crested gecko’s) don’t need uvb as they are usually hiding during the day, but I provide uvb for my leos, based upon suggestion from @kinyonga. I have a rescue leo who sleeps with his head out of his hide to soak up some uvb.
Crested gecko’s do need some heat...around 80* I think. I would definitely not put a heat bulb inside the enclosure but one suspended over it instead.

Guilty as charged...I always had UVB lights on all my crepuscular/nocturnal geckos.

So I have a extra terrarium. I cant get any small chameleons in Serbia so my only option is some other lizard and I’m thinking gecko. Anybody has experience with them and what kind of gecko should I buy?

and search for "gecko". He's done around a dozen or so videos on pros & cons of various species.

Beautiful little fella. Do most of them toss their tails or nah?
I would say fully half the cresteds I've seen for sale were missing tails, which don't grow back.
They can drop them just from stress.

Tokays can be bery bitey...Day geckos can shed their skin when being handled.
From the vids I've seen, it's more like sloughing than shedding. They can also drop their tails.
The bit about sloughing skin is at around 3:45

I'm not against the idea of keeping a gecko; I considered it myself. Just do your diligent homework and be aware of what you may be in for. ;)

I never knew that Day geckos would shed their skin when being handled... I knew tokays could be mean I knew someone with one and it was evil.
It's not like shedding...it's more like ripping off chunks...

"Day geckos are too fast and nervous to be held in the hand and their skin easily sloughs leaving wounds that may become infected and become scars."

Yeah see I had no clue... I was actually considering getting one before I got Bentley. They had a baby that was like 3 inches long at my local pet store. I knew it would never be something to handle but I had no idea they could get hurt like that if you had to move them.
