My male Panther Chameleon (1 year old) has had some trouble shedding lately. Although at a slow rate, it is getting progressively worse. It started in the summer so I'm assuming it's do to the higher temps and dryer weather but I live in Buffalo Ny so its not too hot. Does anyone have any advice on helping the shed process and, other than being ascetically unfavorable are there any health risks associated with it?

what do you mean its getting worse?

as adults, they dont do full body sheds, and it takes them longer to shed.

I just meant that there has been more and more shed left on him each time. So you guys are saying, one, its somewhat natural as they get older and two, mist more often and frequent. Thanks guys.

yes. as chams reach adulthood, they dont shed as often, and they will shed a body part at a time, so it can seem like they are in a constant state of shed.

as long as the skin isnt cutting off circulation to important body parts, like toes, tails, etc, then he will be fine.
