Whatcamo would you be able to post more info on the Nebulizer method? What equipment you use. and how you use it.

Basically what you do is get a small plastic shoebox just big enough for your Cham to fit in drill a hole big enough to accept the inhalation tube then drill small 1/4" hole on the top opposite end of the inhalation tube for dosage
Say you have to use 3units of baytril for oral up that to 3.5 and mix with 3ml of saline solution in the reaction chamber of the enebulizer and turn it on with Cham in the box until the steam in the box has cleared and remove Cham put back in cage this method is very gentle on the internal organs that normally get damaged by the baytril as it is all inhaled and goes direct to the problem through the blood stream last time my Cham had an Ri I saw a complete reverse of symptoms after two treatments I'll try to get a thread put together about it with pics and all tonight or tomorrow

Did you leave the ambient temperatures at 90 all day all night? How long did you do this for?

Yes and I kept the night time temps that high until I was finished with the antibiotic treatments I also feel it is very key to use feeders very high in moister such as hornworms and silkworms especially while using something like baytril which can be injected straight into the the worm and then fed directly to your Cham as the baytril kills the worm fairly quickly

I second this, I picked up a chameleon that had a horrible respiratory infection and after really cranking up the heat and supplementing with pedialyte to keep the cham hydrated despite the heat, she recovered and was back in action.

I've used an extra heat lamp and and tried a dose or 2 of reptaid. She was actually better in no time.

Good info. I hope this helps. How ever since I already did a 21 day cycle of Baytril orally and it didn't help I'm doubtful using Baytril in a nebulizer is going to fix my problem. Getting my Tank to 90F is going to be difficult due to the size of the tank. Though this information is very helpful. If I do another round of antibiotics I'll be looking into using the nebulizer method. Is there a specific brand of nebulizer you recommend?

Nope they are all basically the same
The whole cage doesn't have to be 90 just where he / she is sleeping

So it looks like I'm going to have to spend even MORE money... The heat pad isn't working out. I can't really position it to where he feels any heat from it. Looks like I'm gonna need a ceramic heater after all... I did install another heat lamp above his basking spot in hopes of making it warmer, but he realized what my idea was and moved away.

Save money for vet your going to needs it any vet will be able to look it up then refer back here for guidance with the medicine

I took my Cham to the vet with an LRI (she has had this for roughly 5 days now) and the Vet told me that she was completely healthy, though slightly plump (74 grams!) Anywho, she was obviously not completely healthy, otherwise I would not of been to the vet. After getting no help from the vet and spending $100 I ordered some Reptiaid online. I've heard of other antibiotics (Baytril) being used, but due to the severity of the side effects I decided to try Reptiaid. I have also increased her nightime temps, increased humidity and air flow, as well as moved her to a new locations. I believe the problem in the past was stagnant air in combination with high humidity levels.

Has anyone had any success with Reptiaid for an LRI/URI? Did you inject their feeders, or use a syringe and inject it into their mouths?

Sorry about your Chameleon passing. Sounds like it needed a good Vet though, not all vets specialise in reptiles. Also you should know respiratory infections are very tricky. Keep in mind what we are talking about here its pretty much experimenting, no one guaranteed it would save your Chameleon.

I was gonna respond to that too but thought there was no point as he/she was obviously just annoyed that they couldnt find a good reptile vet, and probably didnt realise that the forums are not a substitute for a vet visit
