Chameleon Enthusiast
I noticed this morning my male sambava (8 mos old) sitting on a branch and a little white thing sticking out of his butt. Then he moved on the branch and it stuck there. Any ideas what this could be. Sort of gooy and white. thanks!

Carol, that is urate. Chameleons are like birds, they don't pee like humans. If you notice next time he defecates it will be a brown, followed by that white that you notice. Also, be sure to pay attention to that as it's a good indicator to wether or not he's getting what he needs. A brown fecal and white urate mean he's hydrated well. If that urate turns yellow, it means he's dehydrated.

I read that before about the sprem plug thing. I do know about the urate being white and yes, his poop looks good and the urate is white. He drinks alot of water everyday. thank you for your help!
