Problems after first vet visit

So I took my 6 mo. old veiled chameleon into the vet today because he had some swelling around his left eye. The veterinarian said that it might be due to a lack of vitamin A and gave me 2 syringes(vit. A & D), one for today and one for next week. I gave him the first dose orally as instructed, and about 7 hours later he threw up. I was wondering if this is serious and needs immediate attention?

Call the vet back and let him know. Also ask them how many cc was Vit A and how many were Vit D. But before you do, Google Vit A and Vit D in chameleons and do some research.

I'm using a reptisun 5.0 coil and a 50 watt basking bulb. Not sure what brand and a bit too hot to touch right now :)

Throwing up fluid is not quite as bad as regurtitating solids but speak to the vet about it. Perhaps the volume of fluid was too much in one go. Stomach capacity is small and fluid wont stretch it as solids do, some fluid may have been retained further up in the lower throat and triggered regurtitation.
Best wishes

Try turning the coil light off for a couple of days and see if things improve. Some coils cause problems...but I don't know if that is one of them.

The amount of medicine was fairly small (.021 cc) and he did vomit up solid material. Looks like the crickets that were fed to him this morning.

Ok I probly wouldnt have fed it immeadiately after the dose but anyway, call back and speak to the vet, see what he suggests. Has it had a drink since? vomiting generally causes some fluid loss, and digestive acid is caustic. If you can get it to drink a few drops of water, great, but dont be too concerned.
Perhaps ask if flushing the eye and/or the administration of gentamycin drops might be appropriate. Did he say why he didnt consider infection/inflammation from a foreign body?

Coil bulbs are believed to cause eye problems. You need a ReptiSun 5.0 linear (tube) light as soon as possible.

Didn't mention anything about flushing the eye or infection/inflammation from a foreign body. I'll ask him when i get a hold of him. Think the clinic is closed for the day.
