Pomona show-Recommend hotel???

Then you really should have gone to Daytona. Picture Chris A sitting there going on and on about taxonomy and the climate in different parts of Madagascar while 12 people mostly from Cham Forum are in a half circle around him with drool coming out of their mouths.... You all know who you are!

As far as Pomona, I'm hoping that at least for dinner, we can relax the extreme stuff.... But maybe I have my hopes set too high. I guess Anderson's not coming, so we might be off the hook. :)

We'll be free both nights (Friday and Saturday) for anything.

I was hoping we'd get to meet Chris. Last year (or earlier this year), didn't some members of the forum take up an offering to help him fly to one of the shows?

my parents are too strict to let me go to the daytona show. once i get my scholarship to highschool (which is in the bag) my parents will ease up on me. i could get my friend to take me though. ill try. that would be soooo fun.

If you go to the Daytona show, I hope my husband and I are there to meet you. I think we were once told that if we could only make one show at year, it should be that one.

Hey Gesang,
If you like plants/botanical gardens-the Huntington Library and Gardens in San Marino is a great place to do the tourist thing. They have an out of this world Japanese garden, and cactus gardens, and rose garden etc. Not to mention the Library with some amazing artwork. If you like art work there is the Getty too.

Thanks. That sounds like a winner. My husband used to raise serious cactus.

I am going to make both days....I met Darci at the LA show very briefly and Vegas Chad if you need any help or need a few hours off or anything just let me know and I will be glad to help out. Either way I am stopping by to say hello :)

Cant wait to meet you all....and whats this about Outback....its not the 'finest' of eating or watering holes around :D

Cant wait to meet people that like to talk about chams and not feel embarrassed about the subjest....YAY!!!

Exactly. Except that we do like the outback. Their lamb rack is really good. They can keep those fried onion things, though. The sauce that comes with that is gross to me.

Myself, Darci, Ryan and Lisa will be manning the Tiki booth. We are going to go out Fri and Sat with us and a few other reptile peeps. Everybody is more than welcome to come. We gotta do OutBack 1 night because it is just a ritual that we do but we are open to anything! It will be a great time... Lisa, did you end up moving over the hump or into Vegas?

We like the outback, so that sounds great. And we hope to be hanging out at the Tiki booth, too.

you all make me soooo jealous :D i cant wait till i grow up and meet people who like herps. noone i know likes herps. they just like to look at them, and dont want to discuss the actual husbandry, or other herp related things.

It's the same for us- our friends think we're strange. Very strange. They're going to think we're even more strange when we get these giant bugs we've been offered......

Yeah, we basically held a fund raiser to get him down to the Anaheim show a year or so ago... There's a few threads about the trip on here. I covered half the cost of his flight as well as his food and room, then a half dozen good people of the forum helped cover the other half of the trip. I had already imported Mike to help, so I couldn't afford to fly Chris in also. I think that must have been one of the times where I was between girlfriends, so I didn't have any help that weekend LOL.... There are benefits to being married now! Tortoise booths aren't as complicated as setting up and tearing down a chameleon booth....

I'm sure Chris will be in Daytona in August. I plan on going down there again also, it's alot of fun; nice weather and lots to see. I've been there 3 of the last 4 years. The hard part is getting animals home that you're forced to buy.

Chad-

Hah, we did end up moving over the hump. It's not as bad as I thought it would be. It helps that I love my job though-it's definitely not the Detroit ghetto that I'm used to. It is kind of redneck, but still close enough that we drive into Vegas whenever.
