Ok, thanks. Wingless grasshoppers, got it. Haven't seen those around here, and didn't think I could feed grasshoppers anyways ?. I'll watch for them.
On another note, regarding super worms... Asked about them at the store, and was asked if I was aware that I needed to BEHEAD THEM before feeding, as they could "eat their way out of the chameleon". REALLY???? ?

I just did a quick search of this forum, and there are many references to needing to crush the head, or remove the mandibles of super worms. So, perhaps not so much a myth after all.

I didn’t say they don’t bite I said it’s a myth that they will eat their way out of your chams stomach. Chams have incredible bite force and crush everything to death almost instantly.

If they get them by the tail then ya it might bite them before they eat it. My chams always go for the head. They seem to know.

I like to select superworms that have just molted, and are soft for my cham treats. I see it kind of like giving them the Cham version of soft shell crab. LOL

Ifci picked a smallish hornworm off a potato leaf, is there a waiting period of feeding buttercrunch lettuce before the worm is safe for the veiled?
