Panther Chameleon Breeding Question

If my male weighs about 350 grams (not 100% sure on that, my scale kinda sucks..) 7 to 8 inch snout to vent. The Female weighs in at about 62 grams and about 4.5 inch snout to vent now. How much should the female weigh before it is safe to attempt to breed them?

This will be my first time breeding Panthers and I just wanted to be on the safe side and ask.

i would wait until shes about a year and half old at least. maybe ven closer to two years.
Most people wont breed past the age of 3ish though.

I'd breed her after she is a year old. Usually a good weight for a female to breed is 60+ grams. You still will want to wait to breed her until she's at least a year that way she's had enough time to develop all her bones and so the eggs won't take away that much needed calcium away from her bones.

This seems to be an age old debate. Sexual maturity can occur early as I have had females receptive at about 9-10 months and were bigger than some of my 12 or 14 month olds. I have a friend who has had a female the size of a house at 7 months. I do agree it is better to wait until they are developed fully but at the same time you can't stop nature. If she is a year old and is of a good weight I would say when she becomes receptive put her in with the male.

Woah your male sounds huge!!!! Lol

If she looks proportional to the malei dont see why not. But if the male is really huge i suggest to wait until you see the female to be of decent size to be able to withstand the mating .....in anycase look at her vent and look at the males bulge......take it easy on the girl lol

im agree, with everybody else,u can start breeding her at 9-10 months, but it is better for ur chams if u wait until they are 1 year :)

I think my scale is busted, I looked thru my records I hadn't weighed him in a couple months (May of 2011) at that time he weighed 180 grams. I don't think hes grown much, I have a friend with a good scale so I will try to re weigh him in the next few days.
