and pretty much just need to pick up some plants, mistking, vitamins, etc

honestly i would buy the stuff separately bc you dont need everything in that package...also, for a bigger cage i would get the aluminum screen cage with a door...the reptariums have a zipper flap which can be a pain in the ass (not so much a pain in the ass with the smaller ones though)

they are just showing the size difference...the one on the right is the 2x2x4...also, take a look in that picture, the white bottom of the cage is like a pvc/plastic material so its easy to clean bc you can just slide it out and wipe it off...what frantic is saying is to put something under the white pvc bottom to raise it up, thus making the inside cage dimensions smaller...hope this helps man

Welcome to the forums. This is a great place to learn about chameleons. I keep veileds and they are so rewarding. My advice to you would be don't rush. Take your time, do your research, have everything bought, set up and tested BEFORE you buy your chameleon. Also have some savings for vet visits and so forth. 2. small bromeliads (1)
3. medium tillandsias (2)
4. small exo terra jungle vein
5. large exo terra jungle vein
6. 24inch floursecent hood light fixture
7. zoo med 24inch repti sun 5.0 UVB bulb
8. lees mini cricket keeper

i know im missing a few other things.. i just cant think at the moment, let me know if this is a good start, and if the 2 live plants i want are safe

Hello welcome to the forum. Sorry I am joining in late, I was out of town. I live in Montana so my weather make yours look mild, from 100 to -30 We can help you have a very healthy chameleon.

If you can get to home depot or Lowes, try to get a ficus tree or a umbrella tree. Get one sized to fit your cage. Order the dripper tray when you order the cage, you will need it with a mist king. With the hours you are at work, the mist king will save your cham. The biggest issues you will face, with the hours you work and your weather, are water and temps. Both are manageable. The live plants will allow the water to stay available on leaves longer than fake plants. Live plants will also help you control humidity, and where you live that is sometimes a challenge. You will also need to get or make a dripper. Lots of easy ones make on here. Supplements are needed but I am sure Jann's blog or Kinyongia covered those.

I do agree the best chameleon for you would likely be a veiled or a panther. I would say don't go NEAR a pet store. We can hook you up with a sponsor or a forum member so you start with a strong, healthy chameleon. If you start well the odds are a lot better for you and your chameleon.

should i get a timer for the mistking? does it come with one with the purchase?.. so you recommend a mistking and a dripper?... should i get a heat lamp, or will the live plants create enough humidity?

Looks to be a good package and is a good price. Personally I wouldn't go for a female as a beginner cham as they lay eggs regardless if a male is present or not. So you'll need to be on top of things and notice any changes so you can put a laying bin in for her to lay her eggs. It's really up to you and what you think is best for you.

oh boy, not sure if im prepared to be a father just yet

this is my very first chameleon and i want to do this right so i can eventually have 2 and so on,, but i still doing my hw on the chameleon itself, dealing with babies seem like a whole new game!

I would have to agree with numerous people the mist king by far blows the Habba mist out of the water. You can order lights cage and supplements, mistking all reasonably priced at LLL reptile
