New UV light

I just bought this new light yesterday, is it placed at the right spot/ distance from her? It’s right on top of the cage.

You may want to add a basking branch up a little higher. It should be about 7-8 inches below the light. And like mentioned above, you'll need more leaf cover anyway so might as well start there!

Yes I’m getting more leaves and a dripper today. But is the light in the right position/ is it the right light?
Usually people suggest a T5 not T8 but I'm not sure the difference. @Beman may be able to help when she wakes up.
But the positioning is right but like I said you may need to add a basking branch 7-8 inches below the light, if that's not already the distance you have.

That light isnt going to cut it if the cage is over 2ft tall.

That light is basically a reptisun T8 5.0.

If you are stuck with that brand, you need "desert" vs "tropical". That will give you a T8 12%/10.0 equivalent, which should be good for a 3ft tall cage, or a very well setup repibreeze XL.
They do have a desert one, should I return the tropical & get the desert?

I bought the 10.0 version of that light for my small veiled cage. Also, it had clear plastic over the bulb which I removed (I had read that it can block UVB). I will probably get an Arcadia bulb as a replacement in six months.

Okay thank you! I’ll be returning mine today and hopefully switching it out for the desert T5HO 6% 5.0 is that correct?

Uhhh, T5 HO 6%/5.0 or T8 12%/10/desert. "zilla" doesnt have T5 HO, they only have T8, in desert and tropical. If you could get a T5 HO Hood that would be awsome, as that is what most are switching to. A T5HO 6% single bulb would give at least 2ft of usable UVB, so they are great for 4ft tall cages.

Or you can buy a arcadia/reptisun 6%/5.0 and pop it into a T5 HO hood:

I think you'd be happier with a T5HO light. I have that exact light on my anole and it's so weak compared to my T5HOs that i have on my chameleon and frogs. I'm going to replace it eventually.
