The UVB and Plant lights all go off together. He goes to his wherever spot about 45 minutes before first lights out and waits. Still alert and slowly changes colors and gathers his tail in a coil.
Then the heat lamp stays on for about an hour.
The heat lamp is then turned off and it's dark until morning.
Total of one hour process.
First the main lamps go off, an hour later the heat lamp goes off.
I've noticed he will use that hour of just the heat lamp to get a drink occasionally.
Now it's just routine to offer the opportunity.
