New to chameleons

You have to keep in mind that the basking spot (lamp) is just to periodically warm the cham up; if the ambient temperature isn't warm enough. The basking light doesn't need to be on all day, unlike the UVB light. The UVB light is the most important; because it's meant to replace the sun, and help to healthily absorb vitamins and nutrients.

For example, with my keeping... Once my ambient room temperature is 63f, my basking light turns off, because the ambient room temperature is enough warmth. From there; we have to account for the UVB/Plant lights and extra heat from them too...

It's all a lot of adjustment to the environment that both you and the cham will need to take time to get accustomed to.

Does the cage dry out during the day?

What's your misting schedule? If you're over watering your can try reducing it.

60% isn't too bad, my humidity never really gets below 50%. It's when the humidity gets to about 70% and the temperatures over 70f that you start to risk an upper respiratory infection. Or when all the branches don't completely dry and mold starts to grow as a result.

For example this was the reading in my little girls cage yesterday.

I also have a small dehumidifier I run during the day that helps bring it down when needed too.

You can also try removing the bottom 4" of the window film, that will help getting air flow going to dry out. Try one side first, and then the other; but keep the back completely sealed still.

She's likely still settling, she's also almost at the juvenile age where they start eating less in general too. I wouldn't be too worried unless she totally stops eating for a week.

Also what do you guys do about the most going into your chameleons laying Ben? I woke up and realized that her Ben was soup. So anyone know anything

She also has been going to bed early the past few nights. Her lights turn on at 8 and off At 8 and I’ve caught her sleeping anywhere from 7:46 to 7:50. I don’t know why she is doing this. She is awake all day walking around basking and eating. Any suggestions would be much appreciated for both comments.

You need to drill holes in the bottom of the bin and arrange it in the spot that gets less spray from the sprinklers. You can then cover the bottom of the bin with land scraping fabric to stop soil from falling out. This was my first attempt at a lay bin...

I ended up spaceing the holes more, and drilling bigger holes to help with drainage. I also removed the rocks, but kept a smaller plant to build a root base.

Full disclosure: my female is 17 months and has never laid eggs, by following the advice on this forum. So, I've only vicariously learned about female vaileds and egg laying.

This is ok as it's near her bedtime. If she were closing her eyes at, say noon, is when it becomes a worry.
