So im headed out of town for a week, and leaving my guy with a fellow forum member to babysit.

Question: Need recommendations on what case of beer to get em.

He allready said no to me offering him anything, but my hopes is if i put it out in the open like this, it might work a bit better.

Ok. fire away guys!

New Castle!!! A 12 pack of NewCastle is a classy gift for any beer drinker!

If it was me though, I would want Pyramid! I'm a Hef Guy!

ah..man flowers. Very sweet.

Alaskan amber
Pyramid apricot ale
mac and jack's

and if you were in canada...

sleeman's honey brown
granville island's winter ale (only comes out in the winter)

yum.

The Cost Plus in Cherry Creek Has a wine and beer store.
They have a case that is a selection of summer microbrews.

i second the Newcastle. My buddy from Newcastle upon Tyne claims its made from pure sewer water.

Another consideration would be Groelsch.

Newcastle who?

kalifornia IPA's are the way to go!
I strongly recommend Bear Republic's "Racer 5"
it's available in a 6 pack and won't be confused with corporate wee wee beer.

and for those that have a good line of taps near them
you've GOT TO HAVE speed's big brother "Racer X" (a double IPA).
it's not on the website but available for those that know by name.

live your life the way you want...
but have a few of these before you die while watching the sunset.

If all else fails:
Stone Brewery
Ruination IPA

This state has developed some excellent IPA's over the last 10 years
so much so that the big brewery's have dropped my city in their
test marketing of their new microbrew style cr*p and decided to go with Wisconsin instead.
what does that tell ya?

I'd hate to cross Newcastle off of my beers list
Kent do I have to drop on by and hand you a 6 pack of racer now?
Move on up from the brown ale buddy!
We've got so many local bottlers that are worth drinking!

Oh, and as long as we're slightly "off topic"...

Beer? Blech.

How 'bout a nice single malt scotch? I'll never refuse a bottle of Lagavulin. :D

Cheers,

"Hi, can I get a dram of whisky, and can you mix in some dirt and maybe some liquid smoke? Mmmm... urp. Sorry I threw up a little in my mouth."

Speyside all the way, Trace. Abelour, Glen Dronach, Tomintoul, Glen Moray.

Back to the original question. As for beer, you might want to find out what he actually likes. Lager, pilsner, IPA, stout, kirsch, etc.

Can't beat a good old black & tan.... 50% Guinness and 50% Carlsberg Lager.... you can eat it with a spoon... breakfast of champions....yum.

i feel a little dumb cause i dont know my beers like some of the forum members but ..... Heineken always gets me in a good mood! just a suggestion from a young fellow down in miami!

good luck dude!

Please do. My local store is somewhat limited to Stone, Sierra Nevada, Red Hook, etc for much variety. Anyway, just wanted to clear up that although I've been drinking mostly Pale and India Pales lately, I do still love me some Newcastle and always will....unless it's made from poo water.

I've tried a lot of beer and I've decided that Cooper's is my favorite and I'm sticking by it. Cooper's Lager or Cooper's Sparkling Ale is what I like most, but I dig unfiltered. Purchasing beer for a person can be really tricky unless you really know what they like.

id have to say go with some Fat Tire! my fav or maybe a lil mini heinakin keg! with a bow on it haha!
