My boys got a R1

So it seems one of my chams has a RI. I have a vet appointment Friday but was wondering if there's anything I can do to help him untill the vet appointment

Steam baths seem to help. I found Zuri did better after 1/2 an hour in the steam or so. Also, up her humidity for now. What kinda enclosure is she in?

I feel your pain. Its so awful when a little one gets sick! Let me know how the vet appt goes!

I read before that you should raise the temps in his enclouser to the highest safe temperature for your species, baring in mind his age so not so hot for babies. If this is just an early case wich it likely is if you just noticed it he will probably recover quickly once he gets antibiotics from the vet. Hope all goes well for him Friday.

The enclosure is a modified aquarium with two screen sides and a top. He's doing the popping noise, I'm worried for my little guy

So my vet is gonna be outta town tomorrow to Sunday so they rescheduled for Monday. It seems to be getting worst and my female is starting to show symptoms,

I know how you feel...Zuri is sick again (or still??) and is now getting worse, and I couldn't get an appointment with my vet until Tuesday!! I'm extremely worried of how much worse she's going to get before then! :(

I would recommend lowering the humidity and misting and trying to get out for as much real sun as possible as well as loose the night time temp drop try to keep the cage in the high 70s-80 overnight I would suspect your enclosure may be causing some issues I would concider spending a few $$ on a retibreeze screen cage

My guys have a RI

Mine have been doing the head up and mucous thing, are these both signs of RI I've heard, I'm taking them to the vet Monday, are these symptoms of anything else? Or just a RI?

I only know of those being caused by RI. Other symptoms are popping noises, bubbles, excessive swallowing, and gaping.

The vet may give you an option of doing a culture and sensitivity test to help get the right antibiotic, or just make a guess if you don't do this. From my experience I would say its worth the price because the first time one of my chams had an RI I didn't do it and had to go through a lot of antibiotics.

To prevent the RI from recurring I would make sure you have very good ventilation in your cage, remove waste as soon as possible, and make sure nothing remains constantly damp.

Sometimes an ultrasonic humidifier can help them breath while waiting on the vet, especially the ones that can create warm mist. You just need to make sure you don't use a humidifier that creates mist hot enough to burn.

I think the problem is that I was using substrate untill about a week ago but it's gone now the dirt got extremely wet when I misted the cage so I'm pretty sure that was how it started

Time to get them outside in the sun and let them bask. Leave them out overnight. Temp swings this time of the year are perfect for this species. Night time humidity is very high and day time levels fall into the optimal range.

I've been taking them outside at least a hour or two a day, I'd need to pick up a outside cage (or build one) they get the same temp fluctuations at night since I leave all my windows open
